Beginner based classes and on the road coaching for "new roadies" or those learning to ride competitively and with groups of other riders.  

Sessions are typically no more than 1 hour long and combine pre and post ride analysis of skills and abilities with specific training recommendations for improvement in all areas.

Performance Level Improvement

We all want to be our best at cycling and earn the greatest reward for our sacrifice of diet and exercise.  Most of the time we see flashes of what is possible in ourselves when everything lines up just right.   But more often than not, riders find their "form" goes up and down without a carefully crafted path of continual improvement. 

What's missing?   A Velo-Cadence coach who understands your current  abilities and experience. We are committed to finding what is missing from your training, identify your weakness' and train it into extinction.

Starts with an initial Rider Assessment: measureing: of wattage, lactate threshold, HR Training Zones, Cadence Analysis, Individual Right + Left Leg power differential and optimization of position for $100 and two, 1 - hour Training Sessions at $50 each


Velo-Cadence group ride training & Etiquette classes are short, half hour classes covering the basic rules of the road and etiquette in their state of the art Multi-Media room prior to riding in any one of  several area group rides.

Group Riding & Etiquette

Riding solo can be a great way to clear your mind, relieve stress and enjoy the simplicity of you and your machine covering distance and time without interruption and at anyone else's speed.
The beauty of riding in groups quite simply can be just the opposite;  it challenges your mind to stay incredibly focused, causes you to ride at someone else's pace which is usually harder than you would on your own.  Oh yeah and it's a great social outlet!
Over the years Matt has led, and followed thousands of group rides around the country, learning the many "ins and outs" of pack or group riding.  Especially how to stay safe and avoid incidents and accidents that can greatly curtail your cycling training or general enjoyment of cycling.

1 /2 Hour class + 1 Hour Group Ride Session:  $60

Proper bike fit and comfort

The foundation for your own rhythm on a bicycle begins with proper bike fit from a professional bike fitter.  Velo-Cadence works with certified techniques and nationally recognized fitting programs to place it's students in the most efficient cycling positions possible.  
  In bike fitting as in everything Velo-Cadence  can do for you, Matt brings together for you his knowledge of cutting edge cycling technology and decades of old-school experience.  This unique symmetry gives each and every Velo-Cadence pupil the most natural performance integration between rider and machine possible.

Velo-Cadence fitting is NOT just a rider on a trainer with measurements and adjustments being made to her or his machine.  It IS an evolution of several integrations; from in the salon expert fitting, to on the road adjustments, understood through practical bio-mechanical education of the rider and maintained with on-the-road feed back and coaching.  Only with all of these elements can the optimal position required for complete comfort and total power output be achieved. 

Fitting Packages start @ $150 with a multitude of features and options for all
levels of cyclists desiring a better ride.









*There are two prerequisite courses from Velo-Cadence tot be completed before Sprinting Power coaching can begin.

Climbing Form

Beginner to Expert , everyone can improve their climbing abilities and form with the help of a watchful coach.

Sessions are booked two one hour sessions at a time.  Real time power comparisons are given before, during, between and after climbing coaching sessions.   Progress logs from test climbs are maintained by Velo-Cadence and shared with the riders in order for real improvement to be tracked and confidence gained

Cost: $50 per hour


Sprinting Power:
Intermediate to advanced riders only!  

From sport riders and road-racers a-like to triathletes and mountain bikers as well there is always a time and a place where your sprinting power can lead you to the front of the race.
Velo-Cadence tackles one of the most frenetic cycling activities through the balanced training in the many facets of powerful sprinting:Vision, mental toughness, strategy, positioning and of course powerful acceleration are all necessary to win sprints.

Sprint coaching is a three part series.  Starting with a one hour tactical sprinting course taught in Velo-Cadence's multi-media room, moving on to a one on one sprint session with Matt on the road and finally through participating in a group sprint session, complete with your own lead out!  Coaching is included before, during and after the group ride.
